Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 2026. This notice explains what information RAE Performance Labs ("we", "us") collects when families use The Magic Shoes Adventure and THE CONTAINER, and how we use it.
Who we are
RAE Performance Labs is operated by Brighton Ceasar ("the seller"). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, the seller is the data controller for the information described in this notice. You can reach us through the contact method shown in the app. [Support contact to be added — please ask RAE Performance Labs for the current contact method.]
Children and family accounts
Our programs are designed for children and teens, but accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian. A grown-up creates the family account, adds scholar profiles (first name and age band only), and can view progress summaries. We do not ask scholars to create their own accounts or to provide contact details.
What we collect
- Account information — the parent or guardian's name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
- Scholar profile information — first name, age band, and program (Magic Shoes or Container) for each scholar added by the grown-up.
- Progress and reflection data — daily check-ins, Future Self statements, missions, Game Film reflections, weekly reviews, and help flags entered in the app.
- Usage data — basic technical information such as device type and pages visited, used to keep the app working and improve it.
- Payment-related data — purchases are processed by our payment provider and merchant of record, Paddle. We receive confirmation of what was purchased and the status of a subscription. We do not see, store, or process full card numbers.
Scholar reflections stay private by default
A scholar's written reflections are private by default. The family dashboard shows grown-ups progress counts, shoe-weight levels, help flags, and only the reflections a scholar has explicitly chosen to share. Help flags exist so a scholar can signal that they needed a safe grown-up's help with something.
How we use information
- To create and maintain family accounts and scholar profiles.
- To save progress so scholars can continue across devices.
- To show grown-ups appropriate progress summaries and weekly guidance.
- To provide access to purchased programs and manage subscriptions.
- To keep the app secure, prevent misuse, and improve the programs.
Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating and improving the programs, and consent where required.
Who we share it with
- Service providers — hosting, database, and authentication providers that run the app (our cloud backend), under contracts that protect your data.
- Paddle — our payment provider and merchant of record, which processes payments, manages subscriptions, handles tax, and issues receipts. Paddle has its own privacy terms for payment data.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not show advertising to scholars.
Retention, security, and your rights
We keep account and progress data while the family account is active and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your family's data, or ask us to stop using it, by contacting us through the app's contact method. Where applicable law gives you additional rights (such as data portability or the right to complain to a supervisory authority), those rights apply.
Educational programs, not clinical services
The Magic Shoes Adventure and THE CONTAINER are educational performance-development programs. They are not therapy, diagnosis, medical care, or a substitute for professional support, and we do not use scholar data to make any clinical judgments.
